Interview: Hira Umer candidly dishes her interests away from the camera lens

Hira Umer left the audience spellbound with her performance as the supportive stepsister of Hania Aamir in Meray Humsafar.

The ravishing young talent with twinkling eyes has been slowly taking a lead in the television industry.

Hira's selection of work has made her stand out among the younger lot. She has played supporting but crucial roles in Geo Entertainment's Aye Musht-E-Khaak and Hum TV's Parizaad and Dobara. She has also worked in Pakistan's first horror-comedy feature film Udham Pathak alongside Faizan Shaikh.

Currently, she is currently starring in the drama serial Jaisay Aapki Marzi alongside Mikaal Zulfiqar and Durefishan Saleem. She discussed her life in fun interview with MAG.

How would you describe yourself in 5 words?

I would say that I’m personable, persistent, unique, humble, and friendly.

What makes you smile and what scares you the most?

Smallest of things can make me smile, like waking up on a Saturday morning and realising it is the weekend or getting a thank you from someone. Although I'm a brave person but thought of losing a loved one scares me the most.

What do you like doing in your spare time?

In my spare time I work out because physical exercise is important for both physical and mental health.

Would you date a fan?

If we both fall in love, yes! Status doesn't mean anything when love strikes you.

What would you change your name to?

I love my name, and it makes me who I am. I wouldn't change it.

Who is the messiest person you know?

I realise that I am the messiest person I know. I'm messy because I'm more impulsive. I subconsciously leave things unorganised, because, in a way, it sparks my creativity.

What’s the most interesting thing you’ve read or seen this week?

I watched The Social Dilemma on Netflix. It is a great documentary about the issues with social media and surveillance capitalism.

What would you like remembered about you?

Everyone remembers me a bit differently depending on how much of life we have shared together. Overall, I want to be remembered as a kind, compassionate and helpful person.
