Jonathan Majors' sentence in assault case postponed to THIS date

Jonathan Majors’ sentence for his two misdemeanor counts of harassment and assault, was delayed to April 8, 2024 due to motions filed by his legal team to set the declared verdict aside.

As reported by Variety, the actor was expected to receive this sentence on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, a month after he was convicted of assaulting and harassing his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.

The judge for the case, Michael Gaffey, said that the new date for the announcement of the verdict will give prosecutors time to respond to the motion, which was filed on Monday, February 5, 2024.

Additionally, Majors did not attend Tuesday afternoon’s hearing in person because he lives out of state and marked his presence virtually.

In late 2023, a jury of Manhattan found the Marvel actor guilty of harassment as well as assault. Based on these charges, he could be sentenced for up to a year in jail.

Jonathan Majors was arrested on March 25, 2023 after he assaulted his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari in the backseat of a private vehicle.

During the Creed III star’s two-week long trial, Jabbari claimed that she had snatched Majors’ phone after seeing a text message from another woman.

She alleged that her then-boyfriend had forcefully retrieved his phone from her, resulting in injuries to her head and finger.

However, Majors denied the allegations made against him and did not testify during the trial, but his defense team alleged that Jabbari was the aggressor in the vehicle that night.

Priya Chaudhry, Majors’ defense attorney stated that he still “has faith in the process and looks forward to fully clearing his name.”

Shortly after the announcement of the guilty verdict, Majors was fired from Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe, in which he portrayed the character, Kang the Conqueror.

He was excluded from all the upcoming Marvel installments, including the 2026 project titled, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.

Followed by his arrest, he was also dropped by his manager, Entertainment 360, and his publicity firm, the Lede Company. However, he still remains represented by the talent agency, WME.
