King Charles recently met veterans of Korean War at Buckingham Palace amid his battle with cancer, marking 70 years since the signing of the armistice that ended the conflict.

As per PEOPLE report, King Charles was spotted early on Tuesday leaving Windsor Castle to meet veterans at Buckingham Palace.

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, the Royal Family posted series of photos capturing King's interaction with veterans who had served during the war.

The caption read, “This morning, the King met veterans of the Korean War at Buckingham Palace to mark 70 years since the signing of the armistice which ended the conflict.”

The meeting served as a tribute to the 60,000 service personnel from Britain and the Commonwealth who bravely fought in the Korean War, with 1,100 sacrificing their lives in the line of duty.

Later in the day, The Princess Royal and The Duchess of Edinburgh will host a reception at the Palace on behalf of His Majesty.

It further stated in caption, “Later today, The Princess Royal and The Duchess of Edinburgh will host a reception at the Palace on behalf of His Majesty to commemorate the anniversary of ‘the Forgotten War.’”
