Maya Ali became the target of the netizens after the actress praised General Qamar Javed Bajwa during the Defence and Martyrs Day ceremony on Wednesday.
The actress hosted a Defence and Martyrs Day ceremony on November 23, which took place at the General Headquarters (GHQ) Rawalpindi.
Pakistani social media users reacted quickly to the actress's speech in which she honored General Qamar for his military services and started making several memes targeting the actress under the hashtag #MayaAli.
As the memes went viral on Twitter, the Teefa in Trouble actress shot to the top of Pakistan's Twitter trending topics.
One of the trollers tweeted that " I am against the cancel culture but I am canceling Maya Ali and the other host for reading that script," while another one wrote that "actress doing this for money."
