Lady Sarah Chatto's touching Easter tribute to Princess Margaret overlooked

Princess Margaret's daughter, Lady Sarah Chatto, adorned her mother's sparkling heirloom brooch on her jacket for the annual Royal Family Easter service at St George's Chapel in Windsor this past Sunday.

Joining other key royals such as Prince William and Kate Middleton for the festive gathering, the 61-year-old appeared elegant in shades of blue as she left the chapel in Berkshire alongside her husband, Daniel Chatto, 68.

Lady Sarah sported a dark navy long wool coat over a light blue button-up cardigan and a matching blue scarf, which she tied around her neck to guard against the chilly weekend breeze.

To complete her look, she wore thick dark navy tights peeking from under her coat and navy velvet, pointed ballet flats.

The artist accessorised with a broad-brimmed straw bucket hat and highlighted the brooch as her primary piece of jewelry.

A sapphire encircled by a band of diamonds adorned the brooch on her lapel, glistening under the sun as she walked with members of the distinguished family.

The artist received the brooch from her late mother, Queen Elizabeth II's sister, who passed away on February 9, 2002.

Throughout her life, Margaret wore the pin for both day and evening functions.

Sarah has showcased the brooch on multiple occasions, including during the Service of Thanksgiving held in Margaret's memory at Westminster Abbey in April 2002, the same year she passed.

This year's service featured most of the main family members in stylish, regal attire for the yearly mass, marking the first public appearance of engaged couple Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling with their blended family.

Princess Anne’s son and his fiancée attended the gathering with his daughters, Isla and Savannah, from his marriage to Autumn Kelly, and Harriet's daughter, Georgina, from a previous relationship with fitness coach, Antonio St John Sperling.

The couple, who went public with their engagement after a year of dating last summer, disclosed plans to marry on June 6 in a private ceremony at All Saints Church, Kemble, Cirencester.

The guest list remains confidential for now, but it is anticipated that Peter's parents, Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips, will attend, as well as his sister and brother-in-law, Mike and Zara Tindall.
