Microsoft is experimenting with its own virtual mouse cursor in its Xbox mode specifically for Windows handheld devices.

The innovative Gamepad Cursor allows the left stick of a handheld, such as the Xbox Ally X, to function as a virtual mouse effortlessly.

Asus includes its own cursor via Armory Crate, while Microsoft's Gamepad Cursor exists in its dedicated Xbox mode within Windows 11.

It's simple to enable from the Game Bar, eliminating the need for Armory Crate. Once activated, the Gamepad Cursor transforms your left stick into a mouse, offering precise control, suitable for apps not designed for controllers.

The left stick functions as a mouse for screen navigation, with the right stick enabling up and down scrolling.

The A button serves as the click function, making it incredibly useful for non-controller-compatible apps, or for areas in PC games requiring account sign-ins that may not work seamlessly with the standard focus-based navigation.

Microsoft is currently trialing this virtual mouse feature with Xbox Insiders, and you can quickly join the program in the Xbox Insider Hub if you're eager to experience this feature before it becomes widely available to all Windows 11 users.
