Mark Zuckerberg developing AI clone to attend meetings
Zuckerberg is working on building an AI helper to support him as CEO
Meta's CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, might soon have a digital twin powered by AI to engage with staff and offer feedback.
According to the report from the Financial Times, Meta is customising the AI model using Zuckerberg’s likeness and voice, as well as his behaviour, speech style, and well-known quotes, aiming to enhance staff members' connection with the founder.
If Zuckerberg's AI implementation proves fruitful, Meta may broaden the option for content producers to craft AI avatars of themselves, as stated in the Financial Times.
In 2024, Meta conducted a live presentation of a potential AI character for creators. They also initiated a feature that lets creators produce AI models of themselves to communicate with comments left by followers on Instagram.
Additionally, Meta users can design unique, AI-crafted chatbots, even though the company has started to prevent teenagers from accessing this service earlier this year.
The Financial Times notes that Zuckerberg is personally participating in the development of the AI avatar, dedicating five to 10 hours weekly to coding on various AI initiatives at Meta and engaging in technical evaluations.
According to a report from The Wall Street Journal in March, Zuckerberg is working on building an AI helper to support him as CEO, although this task is said to be distinct from Meta’s efforts to create an AI version of its leader.
