Mindy Kaling's daughter's cute nickname for godfather B.J. Novak unveiled

Mindy Kaling's oldest daughter, Katherine “Kit” Swati Kaling, has affectionately nicknamed her godfather, B.J. Novak, as Fofo.

In a recent segment on “Watch What Happens: Live with Andy Cohen,” the actor from “Office” was asked about the most memorable gift he ever gave to the “Mindy Project” star's children that earned him the title of "best godfather ever."

“Kit came up with the name Fofo for me, inspired by a character from the children's learning app Doulingo — the bear named Fofo,” he revealed.

“So, I gave her a Fofo plush toy for her collection, and it was a big hit,” Novak, 46, noted.

Host Andy Cohen praised the actor, remarking how “attuned he is with kids.”

“He genuinely connects with them. He communicates on their level,” the Bravo executive, 57, remarked.

Novak is the godfather to all three of Kaling’s kids: daughters Katherine, 8, and Anne, 2, and son Spencer, 5.

The “Never Have I Ever” creator, 46, has chosen not to disclose the father of her children, leading to speculation about whether it could be Novak.

Nonetheless, Kaling addressed the paternity rumors during a conversation with Marie Claire in 2022.

“He’s the godparent to both my kids, and they have a lovely bond. So far, the rumors haven’t affected my happiness, nor have they impacted my kids or B.J.,” she commented at the time.

“It’s not something that concerns me,” Kaling remarked. “If people find it intriguing, that’s just fine by me.”

In February, Kaling mentioned that Novak plays a vital role in her family.

The “Late Night” actress noted she won’t share details about her children’s conception until she discusses it with them.
