Ashley James flaunts 'real body' in leopard bikini: 'Embrace your mum tum'

Ashley James has been applauded for embracing her 'authentic body', encouraging followers to embrace their 'mum tums' without shame.

The former Made In Chelsea personality, aged 39, posted a video on Instagram from her vacation, where she looked fantastic wearing a leopard-print bikini.

The host explained to her children that her stomach was once their 'first home'.

Presenter Ashley, who has two children, Alfie, aged five, and Ada, aged three, with her partner Tommy Andrews, was shown enjoying the sunshine while lounging.

The post included her daughter Ada cuddling her stomach, and she added this caption: “To the world, it might be a ‘mum tum’, but to her, it’s her first dwelling.”

Ashley expressed: “I’ve consistently conveyed to both Alf and Ada the wonder and amazement I feel about my stomach. I tell them they were nurtured inside, that it’s their initial dwelling, and that they rested on it, which is why it’s soft, and it’s always their secure spot for hugging.

“During our trip, she began having full conversations with my tummy, so I had Jas capture that moment.”

This Morning's Ashley James responds to an AI video claiming she's using weight-loss pills.

“I believe there’s an overwhelming amount of chatter and pressure about “beach bodies”, making it a truly special moment.”

She went on: “The body that nurtured a baby, carried them, and protected them is the same one society urges us to critique. That’s the contradiction I want Ada to recognize for what it really is.

“And here’s the lesson: tummies are magical. They have the power to nurture life. They aren’t something to bash, fix, or hide away.

“We are not born disliking our bodies. We learn how to.”

Supporters quickly shared their thoughts on Ashley’s post, with one saying: “This brings tears to my eyes!! I also remind my son that he started his life in mummy’s tummy.”

Another chimed in: “This is so wonderful.”

And another mentioned: “Absolutely love this! I’ll teach my 12-month-old that my tummy was her first house.”
