Hudson Williams’ post-‘Heated Rivalry’ series ‘Yaga’ heads to AMC+ in US

AMC+ has acquired exclusive US streaming rights to Yaga, a new supernatural thriller led by rising actor Hudson Williams in his first major television role since the worldwide success of Heated Rivalry.

The eight-episode drama, which also stars Carrie-Anne Moss, is scheduled to premiere on AMC+ later this year ahead of Williams’ return in the second season of Heated Rivalry.

The announcement was unveiled during AMC Global Media’s Upfront Content Showcase on Wednesday.

Based on a play by Kat Sandler, who also serves as writer and showrunner, Yaga offers a modern retelling of the Slavic legend of Baba Yaga, blending folklore with psychological mystery and supernatural suspense.

The story follows a private investigator who arrives in a remote coastal town to probe the disappearance of a wealthy young heir, played by Williams, only to uncover hidden agendas, eerie secrets and traces of ancient magic.

AMC executives described the project as a bold genre crossover that combines horror, witchcraft and classic detective storytelling — a formula the platform believes will resonate strongly with its niche audience.

The acquisition further expands AMC+’s growing lineup of occult and fantasy titles, joining series such as A Discovery of Witches and Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches.

Produced by Blink49 Studios and Front Street Pictures in partnership with Crave, Yaga is already generating attention as Hudson Williams’ next major career move following his recent breakout fame.
