Gigi Hadid commanded the spotlight at the Met Gala, marking her second consecutive year opting for a meticulously embellished gown.
The model arrived in a custom Miu Miu creation, a sophisticated piece defined by hotfix crystals, patchwork flames, and delicate floral embroidery.
To complement the intricate garment, she wore Jessica McCormack Asymmetric Emerald Diamond Hoop Earrings and a substantial 5.01ct Heart-Shaped Diamond Button Back Ring.
The journey to the red carpet was not without its challenges. Speaking candidly about the creative process days before the event, Hadid noted that the initial construction required significant refinement.
"The patchwork really wasn’t sitting on my body the way that I anticipated from the sketch," she explains. Rather than feeling deterred by the time constraints, she embraced the pressure. "I think the most special moments come when you have to rush it a little bit," Hadid says.
The final look was a result of collaborative, hands-on adjustments made just forty-eight hours before her arrival.
"We all sat in a hotel room two days ago, literally, and Scotch taped the patches onto me in a way that felt celebratory," she says.
Reflecting on the sheer elements of the design, she added, "I love how the body and the skin spoke through the material." For the celebrated model, the process was deeply personal. "It’s built on the body. The body is the canvas," she says.
This appearance follows a string of successful high-fashion collaborations, as Hadid continues to expand her influence within the global modelling industry and her own knitwear brand, Guest in Residence.
