Fitness coach reveals six simple tips to reduce bloating

Feeling bloated despite trying hard to fix it? According to Chennai-based fitness coach Raj Ganpath, the answer may lie not in extreme diets but in a few manageable lifestyle tweaks done consistently.

With 18 years of experience in the fitness industry, Ganpath recently shared six everyday habits that can help reverse bloating and improve digestion.

His first recommendation is surprisingly simple: drink more water. Ganpath explained that dehydration often causes the body to hold on to fluids, worsening the swollen feeling.

He also stressed the importance of moving more throughout the day, saying regular walking can improve digestion, blood circulation and reduce water retention.

The coach further advised people to sweat more through exercise, which can temporarily flush excess water while helping maintain long-term fluid balance.

Prioritising seven to eight hours of quality sleep is another crucial factor, as poor rest can raise stress hormones and inflammation — both linked to bloating.

Ganpath also suggested cutting back on sugary, salty and highly processed foods, which tend to increase fluid retention.

Lastly, he highlighted stress management as a key but often ignored solution, noting that stress directly affects digestion and gut motility.

“Not everyone may need all six changes,” he said, “but identifying the ones you need and working on them consistently will lead to noticeable improvement.”
