Google Home's Gemini AI tackles complex requests

Users of Google Home can now instruct Gemini to execute intricate, multi-step actions, and perform multiple tasks with one command.

Google has upgraded Gemini for Home to version 3.1, claiming this will enhance the assistant's capabilities in understanding and responding to requests.

Additionally, the update enhances Gemini for Home’s management of recurring and all-day events, and even allows shifting of upcoming events.

The previous month, Google introduced improvements to Gemini for Home, enhancing its comprehension of natural language and its accuracy in identifying devices.

These updates address earlier issues experienced by the smart home assistant, such as mistakenly identifying animals in camera feeds or inaccuracies in summarising activities.

Besides the Gemini upgrade, Google also announced enhancements to the camera interface, new automation features, and introduced public previews of "Ask Home on Web" and an upgraded notification system.

"Ask Home on Web" will enable Google Home users to manage their smart homes from a computer, facilitating tasks such as looking through camera history using natural language, monitoring devices, and setting up automations.

Additionally, Google is previewing "improved and expanded notifications," which incorporate “quick action” buttons for direct device control within notifications.
