Prince Harry's surprise appearance shortly after King Charles's US trip

Prince Harry was recently seen having lunch in Los Angeles, shortly after his father, King Charles, wrapped up his state visit to the United States.

The Duke of Sussex, now 41, spent Monday having a midday meal with friends at the well-known Nobu restaurant in the city, a venue popular with celebrities.

In photos shared by PEOPLE Magazine, he appeared relaxed in a casual khaki-green shirt with sleeves rolled up.

Los Angeles is roughly an hour and a half away from Harry's $29 million home in Montecito, where he resides with his wife Meghan Markle, and their kids, Archie, aged seven, and Lilibet, who is four.

This all follows just days after his father, King Charles, made headlines with a prominent visit to the United States alongside Queen Camilla, with stops in New York, Washington D.C., and Virginia.

However, even though the King made a seldom-seen trip to the United States, he did not connect with his son during the visit.

Despite King Charles travelling to the US, he still remained a five-hour flight away from his son, and the tight schedule of the State Visit didn't allow time for a meeting.

"The Duke has a close bond with his father and absolutely wishes to spend as much time as he can with him," a source previously mentioned to HELLO!

"But in the real world, both of their lives are incredibly demanding, and it's not always feasible or practical to coordinate their schedules."

King Charles and Queen Camilla made the trip to the United States last week at the behest of the British Government and following an invitation from President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania.

Last year, the Duchess shared that they threw a birthday party for him, though they chose not to disclose any additional specifics.

On the other hand, Princess Lilibet enjoyed a visit to Disneyland for her fourth birthday.

Meghan also posted a charming picture of Archie as he turned six on her Instagram—capturing him in pajamas gazing out at a sunset.
