Meera will be seen playing Meena Kumari's character in 'Pakeezah' sequel
Pakistani film star Meera will be seen playing role of Meena Kumari in Pakeezah remake, the actress recently confirmed.
In an interview with SAMAA Digital, Meera opened up about her future plans in showbiz and weighed in on her role in the sequel of 1972 classic.
In contrary to the earlier reports that Mahira Khan will play the iconic role, the Baaji actress is already said to begin film shooting in March 2023.
Pakeezah -a masterpiece released by Indian cinema in 70’s, was arguably one of the best works of late actress Meena Kumari.
The film smashed box office records after its release. However, the diva of Indian cinema could not witness the enormous success of the movie as she died a month before the film hit the theatres.
