Hayden Panettiere has spoken about her approach to maintaining a positive mindset, saying she intentionally surrounds herself with uplifting people as she continues to navigate life and career challenges.

The 36-year-old actress, who rose to fame as a child star and went on to headline series such as Heroes and Nashville, said she believes her environment plays a key role in her personal growth and long-term happiness.

Speaking to The Independent, Panettiere explained that her outlook is shaped by both resilience and experience.

“I know that if I surround myself with positive people, I can accomplish whatever I set my mind to,” she said. “I’ve made my share of mistakes, I’ve fallen on my face, but I’ve always stood up again and dusted myself off.”

The actress has previously been open about facing personal struggles, including addiction and family difficulties, but said she continues to focus on finding meaning and direction in her life.

“I’ve got plenty of issues, but finding meaning in life isn’t one of them,” she said.

Panettiere, who has worked more selectively in recent years, said she is now focused on new creative ventures, including writing, producing, and launching a jewellery line. She also plans to share her story more directly through her upcoming memoir, This Is Me: A Reckoning.

She said the book reflects her decision to be open and unfiltered about her life journey.

“I made the decision to be brutally honest about every aspect of my life, from childhood to now,” she said. “I had to learn not to be afraid of what people would think about it, or if they would judge me.”

The actress also reflected on the challenges of growing up in the entertainment industry, saying early fame made it difficult to maintain friendships and a sense of belonging.

“I was four years old when I was on Guiding Light. I literally hadn’t taken a break from the industry since I was like, eight months old,” she previously said. “It was difficult to keep up with your friends. I was the outsider.”
