Katie Price calls arrest reports about missing husband Lee Andrews 'fake news'
The situation remains unclear as multiple versions of events continue to circulate
Katie Price has disputed claims that her husband, Lee Andrews, has been arrested, calling the reports “fake news” amid an ongoing and confusing missing-persons situation involving the UAE-based businessman.
The 48-year-old model and television personality recently filed a missing-person report with authorities in the United Arab Emirates after Andrews allegedly failed to board a flight to the UK. Price has said she was told he may have been kidnapped, prompting an international search effort.
However, conflicting accounts emerged over the weekend after Andrews’ father, Peter, told the Daily Mail that he had spoken to his son and was informed he was being held by authorities in Dubai.
“Lee is OK,” he said. “He has not been kidnapped but he is under arrest. I don’t know on what charge. I’m not sure where he is being held.”
A police insider also reportedly claimed that Andrews had been arrested, adding further confusion to the situation.
But within hours, Price publicly rejected those claims and insisted that her husband remains missing.
“This is fake news,” she wrote on social media. “Lee is still missing. Me and his family know what’s going on and working with the authorities involved.”
Price had previously said she believed Andrews may have been kidnapped and later admitted on her podcast that she was stepping back from the situation for her own well-being.
“I’m taking a step back, for my own sanity,” she said. “There’s only one person I need to look after and that is myself.”
She added that she was struggling with uncertainty surrounding the situation, saying she no longer knew “what’s true, what’s not true.”
Earlier this week, Price also shared alleged WhatsApp messages from Andrews in which he appeared to give conflicting accounts of his situation.
In one message, he reportedly wrote: “Been arrested I’ll be in touch I’m OK xx.”
In another, he suggested he was being detained under more unclear circumstances, claiming he was in a “black site” and being transported to a detention facility.
He also urged Price to track his location and contact the embassy, while maintaining that he was safe.
However, reports citing Dubai’s CID headquarters indicated that no individual matching Andrews’ name has been formally arrested.
