The Royal Collection Trust shared a series of photographs on Friday marking the occasion, depicting the christening of the then-Princess Elizabeth, which took place on 29 May 1926 at the Private Chapel in Buckingham Palace.

A towering figure on the world stage

Queen Elizabeth II was widely regarded as Britain's longest-reigning monarch, serving as the nation's figurehead and a commanding presence on the world stage for seven decades.

She passed away peacefully at Balmoral Castle, her Scottish residence, in September 2022.

Her husband, Prince Philip, had predeceased her in April 2021. In the period leading up to her death, Buckingham Palace had acknowledged that the Queen had been experiencing what it described as "episodic mobility problems."
