Steve Guttenberg and Emily Guttenberg reach divorce agreement after court filing
The agreement includes a $700,000 spousal support buyout and asset division terms
Steve Guttenberg and Emily Guttenberg have finalized the terms of their divorce, more than a year after the actor initially filed to end their marriage.
Court documents obtained by Us Weekly show that the former couple reached a settlement agreement on March 17, marking a resolution to proceedings that began when Guttenberg filed for divorce in April 2025.
The agreement outlines a financial and property division structure, including a $700,000 spousal support buyout to Emily Guttenberg.
According to the filing, both parties will retain their respective earnings accumulated before, during, and after the marriage.
The couple also signed a prenuptial agreement in June 2018, prior to their wedding in January 2019 in Malibu.
Under the terms of the settlement, Steve Guttenberg will retain ownership of the couple’s Pacific Palisades home, along with all art, collectibles, antiques, furniture, appliances, and other household items in his possession.
Emily Guttenberg will be permitted limited access to the property to collect personal belongings and arrange for storage of her items.
The agreement also stipulates that any joint bank accounts will be divided equally between the two parties.
Additional financial provisions require Steve Guttenberg to cover several transitional expenses, including monthly lease payments on Emily Guttenberg’s 2024 BMW, insurance costs, and temporary housing support.
According to the filing, he will also cover moving and storage costs for her belongings and provide hotel accommodations through July 1.
The documents further state that while Emily Guttenberg remains at the Ritz-Carlton, incidental charges will be covered up to $2,000 per month.
She is also permitted to charge up to $5,000 monthly to Steve Guttenberg’s credit card until she secures new housing.
Steve and Emily Guttenberg were introduced on a blind date in 2014 before marrying five years later. The divorce settlement now formally concludes their legal and financial arrangements following their separation.
