Hilaria Baldwin is opening up about her marriage to Alec Baldwin, reflecting candidly on the couple’s 27-year age gap and how it appears to outsiders.

The 42-year-old podcaster, who has been married to the 68-year-old actor since 2012, said she is well aware that their relationship dynamic can sound unusual at first glance.

Speaking in a recent interview, Hilaria described the perception bluntly: “Take a 27-year-old yoga instructor married to a rich and famous older man — it sounds ridiculous. It sounds like a bad SNL sketch.”

Despite the jokes and public scrutiny, she emphasized that the couple has built a strong and balanced partnership over the years, often using humor to navigate attention around their relationship.

“It worked out luckily, but we poke fun at each other in our family all the time,” she said. “I think people expect that Alec wanted somebody he could boss around, and we’re on the same level together.”

Hilaria and Alec Baldwin share a large blended family, raising seven children together: Carmen, 12, Rafael, 10, Leonardo, 9, Romeo, 8, Eduardo, 5, Maria Lucia, 5, and Ilaria, 3.

The couple has often spoken about the challenges and rewards of maintaining family life while balancing demanding careers.

According to Hilaria, one of the ways they keep their relationship strong is by prioritizing time together despite busy schedules.

“We’ve been travelling a lot for work recently but we try to have a lot of date nights, which usually involves dinner,” she said.

“He loves a good dinner. We either go out or I cook and we usually end up chatting and catching each other up on our seven kids and our projects.”

Her comments come as Alec Baldwin has also reflected on shifting priorities in recent years, particularly after stepping back from work following the 2021 shooting incident on the set of Rust.

The actor has previously said he grew accustomed to spending more time at home with his children and briefly considered slowing down his career to focus on family life.

“I was home with my kids for three and a half years,” he said on The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast.

“I hardly worked at all… I got used to it, and I don’t want to leave my house anymore.”
