Katy Perry reacted swiftly when a projector malfunction interrupted the screening of her concert film Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour – Live from Paris at the Tribeca Film Festival, turning a potentially awkward moment into a live singalong with the audience.

The 41-year-old singer was attending the Monday premiere when the film briefly stopped during a performance of her track CRUSH, prompting groans from the audience. According to Page Six, the technical issue occurred mid-song as the concert documentary was being shown.

Rather than step away from the moment, Perry immediately stood up and encouraged the crowd to continue singing the song while the issue was resolved. Audience members joined in, effectively turning the pause into an impromptu performance before the film resumed moments later.

The concert film, which documents her “Lifetimes” tour, was filmed over two nights in Paris and captures performances from her 91-show global run.

The premiere also marked Perry’s first red carpet appearance with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who attended the event alongside her. The pair were seen holding hands, embracing and posing for photographs inside the venue.

Katy Perry opens up about love and life

Following the screening, Perry took part in a Q&A session where she spoke about her personal life and relationship with Trudeau. She described herself as “very in love” and credited him with helping her feel grounded.

“I’m a little bit of a rainbow kite… sometimes I need to be anchored,” she said, adding that she felt “more whole” and “more grounded” after her recent experiences and tour schedule.

Perry and Trudeau went Instagram-official in December and have reportedly been blending their families. Perry shares her daughter Daisy with actor Orlando Bloom, while Trudeau has three children with his estranged wife Sophie Grégoire.
