Eddie Hearn wants to settle rivalry with Dana White inside the boxing ring
The boxing promoter believes a fight with White could generate millions for both rivals
Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed that he would be open to facing Dana White in the ring, claiming their potential showdown could become one of boxing’s biggest events.
The Matchroom Boxing boss has been involved in a war of words with Zuffa Boxing chief Dana White in recent months, and Hearn said he would welcome the opportunity to settle their rivalry through a fight.
Speaking to The Ring magazine, the 47-year-old admitted he is not a professional fighter but believes the entertainment value alone would make the matchup a major attraction.
“Of course, what a buzz would that be!” Hearn said when asked about fighting White.
Hearn acknowledged that White may have the advantage physically, explaining that although he grew up around boxing, his own experience inside the ring is limited.
“I can’t really fight. I grew up around boxing all of my life, so when I was young, I thought I could fight,” he said, adding that White appears to have more ability based on footage he has seen.
The idea gained attention after White previously suggested he would be willing to fight Hearn, leading fans to question whether the boxing promoter would accept the challenge.
Hearn believes the matchup would attract huge interest regardless of their fighting ability, saying the numbers and public attention would make it a major sporting spectacle.
“You know boxing, you know numbers... it doesn’t matter how good we are, it’s just massive,” he said.
The promoter, who works with fighters including former heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua, predicted the event could generate tens of millions of dollars.
“The reality is, it’s a $30 million fight each,” Hearn claimed, adding that he would be interested in the financial opportunity as well as the entertainment factor.
While no official plans for a fight between Hearn and White have been announced, the idea has added another chapter to the ongoing rivalry between the two combat sports figures.
