Elisha Cuthbert shares honest thoughts on revisiting ‘24’
The actress praises ‘24’ while admitting the demanding production was exhausting
Elisha Cuthbert has opened up about the possibility of returning to the iconic action series 24, admitting that the demanding experience behind the hit show may make a comeback difficult.
The 43-year-old actress, who played Kim Bauer in the Emmy-winning drama, reflected on her time on the series and said she still has many positive memories, but the intense filming schedule was physically and emotionally challenging.
Speaking to People, Cuthbert described the success of 24 as both exciting and overwhelming, while acknowledging the pressure that came with producing the fast-paced action series.
“It was overwhelming and thrilling and exciting,” she said. “I have great memories of that time, but it was really intense too.”
The actress explained that the show’s production required long hours, frequent night shoots and physically demanding scenes, making it one of the toughest projects she had worked on.
“We were working so much,” Cuthbert said. “It was not an easy show to film. It was a well-oiled machine, but it still was a gruelling schedule. I don’t know if I’d have the energy to partake in that again.”
Despite her hesitation about returning, Cuthbert praised the series and called the experience an important part of her career.
She described 24 as “amazing” and “groundbreaking,” adding that she feels fortunate to have been part of such a major television phenomenon.
Cuthbert also revealed that she remains in contact with some former cast members and occasionally reconnects with actors who appeared as guest stars during the show’s eight-season run.
Her comments come after 24 star Kiefer Sutherland offered a different perspective on his time with the series.
The actor, who played Jack Bauer, previously said he appreciated the stability of the show’s schedule, describing it as the first time in his career he felt he had a “real job.”
