Tyra Banks files a defamation lawsuit against Netflix over her documentary interview editing
The supermodel accuses producers of manipulation and distorting her reality show accountability
Supermodel Tyra Banks is suing Netflix for defamation following the release of a controversial documentary about America's Next Top Model. The former host, who participated in the project, accuses producers of deceptive editing and manipulation. Her lawsuit alleges that filmmakers used only 16 minutes of her three-hour interview to create a false narrative that completely disregarded her actual words.
Banks claims that she used the interview to take accountability for past show controversies, but says those moments were cut. Crucially, she argues the documentary was edited to make it look like she was intentionally avoiding a serious topic involving a past contestant, when she actually had no idea it was considered an assault. The 52-year-old star is now demanding a jury trial and seeking punitive damages, stating that the project completely distorted her intentions.
