Corey Feldman claims misdiagnosis fueled confusion after mid-flight health scare
The 'Goonies' star reassured fans he is recovering and back to working on new music
Corey Feldman is reassuring fans after a recent medical emergency that led to his hospitalization, saying the incident was ultimately caused by food poisoning rather than a serious illness.
The 54-year-old actor fell ill on a flight from Chicago to Los Angeles on Monday, June 15, and was met by paramedics upon arrival at LAX.
At the time, reports noted that Feldman was evaluated by a doctor on board the flight, and he was later hospitalized as a precaution.
Two days later, Feldman addressed the situation in a video shared on Instagram, telling fans he was recovering and back to work on new music.
“I don't even know what it's called yet, it's that brand new,” he said while appearing in a recording studio. “But I like it, we like it, we're all digging it, it's pretty freaking cool.”
In the caption, he wrote in all capital letters, “I WANTED 2 TOUCH BASE AFTER THAT BIG OL HEALTH SCARE & LET U ALL KNOW IM ALIVE & WELL!”
Feldman also claimed that early medical assessments had led to confusion about his condition, saying a doctor initially misdiagnosed him.
He further alleged that preliminary information from medical staff was shared with the media before the final diagnosis was confirmed.
“HOWEVER, IT WAS ONLY FOOD POISONING THANK GOD! ILL B OK,” he added.
The actor had been in Chicago for the 40th anniversary celebrations of Stand by Me, where he reunited with co-stars Jerry O’Connell and Wil Wheaton.
He also shared moments from his trip on social media, including a visit to a Michael Jackson memorial site in Gary, Indiana.
Despite the scare, Feldman has continued focusing on upcoming projects, including his new single “What Am I Here 4,” set for release on June 22, as well as scheduled birthday performances later this month.
