Paramount has set a wide theatrical release date of 12 November 2027 for its adaptation of Gabrielle Zevin's bestselling novel Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, starring Daisy Edgar-Jones and directed by Oscar winner Siân Heder.

Variety exclusively reported in March that Edgar-Jones would lead the film, playing game designer Sadie Green.

What the story is about

Zevin's novel, published in 2022, follows two childhood friends — Sadie Green and Sam Masur — who reconnect in college and go on to become creative partners in the video game industry across the 1990s and 2000s.

The story also centres on Sam's roommate and close friend Marx Watanabe, as the three build a video game studio called Unfair Games together. Casting for Sam and Marx has not yet been announced.

Edgar-Jones comes to the project following a strong run of commercial and critical successes, including box office hits Twisters and Where the Crawdads Sing, as well as the acclaimed television series Normal People and Under the Banner of Heaven.

Behind the camera

Heder, who won the Academy Award for directing CODA, is both writing and directing the film. Her screenplay is based on earlier drafts by screenwriter Mark Bomback and Zevin herself. Heder is also producing alongside Temple Hill's Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen, and Isaac Klausner. Zevin will serve as executive producer.

The book's pedigree

Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow has sold more than four million copies worldwide across 40 foreign language territories since its 2022 publication. The New York Times named it one of the 100 best books of the 21st century, while the Los Angeles Times listed it among the best fiction books of the past 30 years.

Zevin is represented by CAA, Sterling Lord Literistic's Doug Stewart, and Bradley Garrett of Garrett Legal, PC. Heder is represented by CAA, Anonymous Content, Goodman, Genow, Schenkman, Smelkinson & Christopher, and ID.
