Rita Ora reveals dream Royal Albert Hall project amid new music buzz
The pop star says she is enjoying a more relaxed approach as she works on new material
Rita Ora says she is embracing a more relaxed mindset as she works on new music, revealing that she is learning to ease the pressure she often places on herself.
The 35-year-old singer, who recently performed at the Isle of Wight Festival, is currently working on follow-up material to her 2023 album You & I and says she is enjoying the creative process more than ever.
Speaking to The Sun’s Bizarre column, Rita said she is excited about the new direction of her music while also focusing on self-confidence and balance.
“I can’t tell you how excited I am for this new stuff. I think maybe I’ve still got it? Can I be honest, though, it’s the coolest thing to be doing this job,” she said. “Sometimes you put so much pressure on yourself but it feels nice to just go with it. We are good enough, you know.”
The singer explained that stepping back from perfectionism has helped her reconnect with the joy of making music.
Alongside her upcoming release, Rita also revealed a long-held ambition to record a live album at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall.
“I love the Royal Albert Hall,” she said. “I still want to do a live album there one day. It’s iconic.”
She added that performances by artists such as Adele and Raye have inspired her to pursue the milestone, describing it as a defining moment for any musician.
“It’s just what you want to do as a musician when you grow up,” she added.
Rita has also been expanding her musical skills beyond singing, recently revealing she has started learning harmonica with guidance from Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood.
She said the legendary musician has been giving her tips and encouragement as she explores new instruments, and she hopes to learn guitar next.
