Leah Barrs addresses controversial secret that cost her a nannying job

Leah Barrs is speaking candidly about a controversial past decision that resurfaced during her appearance on Hulu’s Million Dollar Nanny, saying she takes accountability for her actions while also insisting the experience shaped who she is today.

Barrs, one of eight young nannies featured on the reality series, previously admitted on camera that she once slept with the father of a child she was working for.

The revelation, made early in the season, quickly spread among the group and ultimately reached members of their wider professional network in Ibiza, resulting in the loss of a nannying opportunity for her.

The series follows Barrs and her colleagues as they attempt to launch a luxury nanny agency catering to wealthy families on the Spanish island.

However, the disclosure of her past relationship becomes a point of tension within the group and contributes to her being replaced as a representative of the agency by fellow cast member Jack McCann.

Speaking in an interview with People, Barrs reflected on the incident and the circumstances surrounding it.

“I was young — I was 22 at the time,” she said. “And I shouldn’t have done that.”

She acknowledged that while she once viewed the situation as a mistake, her perspective has since evolved.

“It was something I regret doing,” she said. “I guess I don’t regret it because you learn from your mistakes, but I’m not that person today.”

Barrs added that the relationship occurred before she was formally employed as a nanny, though she admitted the boundaries were still crossed, given the circumstances.

“I was working for him that night, so I shouldn’t have crossed that line,” she said.

She also addressed how the secret came to light on the show, explaining that she initially shared it privately during a night out with a fellow nanny, not anticipating it would spread further.

“I’m just talking to my friend,” she said. “We had a fun night out, we were drinking, you know, and I didn’t give the full details.”

Barrs noted that she is no longer in contact with the man involved.

“He’s happily married,” she said. “Pack it up.”
