Chloe Bailey shares the special connection that keeps her close to sister Halle
The singer and actress opened up about their special sisterhood and working on individual projects
Chloe Bailey has revealed that she and her sister Halle Bailey continue to be each other’s biggest source of support as they build their own careers away from their original musical partnership.
The sisters first gained recognition as the duo Chloe x Halle before expanding into individual projects, including acting. While Halle has starred in projects such as The Little Mermaid and You, Me & Tuscany, Chloe is preparing for her upcoming psychological thriller Strung.
Despite taking on separate opportunities, Chloe says their bond has remained stronger than ever.
“Sis and I, we started doing everything together, so we're each other's safety blanket,” Chloe told People.
“It’s so fun to see how we’re both doing our thing and killing it equally, and also, it just makes when we come together that much more special,” she added.
In Strung, Chloe portrays Layla, a talented violinist whose new tutoring job with a wealthy family takes a dark turn when she discovers a connection to the family’s patriarch and finds herself fighting for survival.
The actress described filming the project as an unpredictable but exciting experience.
“It was very exciting and very spontaneous,” she said. “We didn’t know what we were going to get ourselves into until the day of, even though we did plan a lot and we had rehearsals and things.”
Chloe added that the variety of scenes kept the experience fresh, from dramatic moments to music performances.
“You just never know what the day might bring, and it was fun putting fake blood on. It was fun doing music another day, which is always my love,” she explained.
While her character Layla is quick to sense that something is wrong within the family she works for, Chloe admitted she is personally trying to become more thoughtful before reacting emotionally.
“That’s something I’m currently trying to work on, to not be as impulsive when it comes to my feelings,” she said.
“I’m trying to be a little more disciplined,” she added, describing Layla as someone who is constantly balancing fear and determination.
“Some moments she’s with it, ride or die, and some moments she hesitates. So, I think she’s constantly in fight-or-flight mode, and you never know what you’re gonna get from her,” Chloe said.
Alongside her acting career, Chloe continues to focus on music, with her latest album Resurrection marking another chapter in her journey as a solo artist.
