Mel B reveals ADHD diagnosis is the reason she's always late

Mel B has revealed that her long-standing habit of running late is linked to her ADHD, saying she has "no concept of time" because her brain works differently.

The Spice Girls star, 51, opened up about living with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and dyslexia, explaining that she wasn't diagnosed until her 40s.

Speaking to The Telegraph, Mel said the late diagnosis helped her better understand why she struggles with time management.

"I have ADHD so I have no concept of time. I was only diagnosed with ADHD, and also dyslexia, in my 40s and I wish I had known about it when I was at school," she said.

"I now understand that my brain works differently on so many levels – including time frames."

The singer explained that she often underestimates how much she can accomplish before leaving the house.

"If someone says, 'We need to leave in 30 minutes,' I think I can get a bath, watch the end of a Netflix show, groom my dog and do a bit of meditation," she joked.

"People who know me now get that they have to keep gently reminding me to get a move on — but secretly I quite like having no sense of time."

Elsewhere in the interview, Mel reflected on turning 51, saying she embraces getting older and believes life continues to improve with age.

"People talk about it like your life is over. It's not. I'm bloody proud to be 51. It's just the beginning of a different chapter," she said.

"I'm a firm believer that life gets better. With age comes experience and wisdom, and you care a lot less about what other people think."

Her comments come after speculation surfaced about a possible rift with fellow Spice Girls member Geri Horner.

The rumors began when Geri shared an Instagram post celebrating the 30th anniversary of the group's debut hit Wannabe, tagging every Spice Girls member except Mel B. Fans also noticed the pair no longer appear in each other's Instagram following lists, fueling speculation that Geri may have blocked her former bandmate.

However, Mel C recently dismissed talk of any feud, insisting the group remains close.

Speaking at the Nordoff and Robbins Silver Clef Awards in London, she said, "It was a very emotional day yesterday. We're all in touch obviously, all of the girls. We're so grateful and respectful of each other."
