Jay-Z opens up about sharing the stage with daughter Blue Ivy

Jay-Z is celebrating more than three decades in music, but one of the biggest highlights of his anniversary concert series came from sharing the spotlight with his daughter, Blue Ivy.
The 56-year-old rapper briefly reflected on the special moment during Michael Rubin's Fanatics Fest luncheon on July 17, where he spoke about Blue Ivy joining him on stage during the opening night of his 30th anniversary concert series at New York's Yankee Stadium.
When asked if performing alongside his 14-year-old daughter was one of the night's standout moments, Jay-Z smiled and replied, "You said it."
"That ain't even a question," he added, making it clear how meaningful the experience was.
The July 10 concert featured several surprise guests, including Beyoncé and Alicia Keys. Jay-Z and Beyoncé performed Can't Knock the Hustle together, with the rapper praising his wife after the performance.
"Oh, she can sing," he joked before Beyoncé encouraged the audience to applaud their daughter.
Blue Ivy later joined her father for a performance of Feelin' It, playing a piano solo at the end of the 1996 track.
Jay-Z introduced her as "the legendary Blue Ivy Carter" before sharing a heartfelt embrace on stage.
The performance added to Blue Ivy's growing list of live appearances with her famous parents.
She previously joined Beyoncé on the Renaissance World Tour in 2023 before becoming a regular performer during the Cowboy Carter Tour in 2025, where her viral dance to Déjà Vu became a fan favorite.
Earlier this year, Jay-Z also praised Blue Ivy's musical abilities in an interview with GQ, revealing that she taught herself to play piano by ear.
"She won't let us get her a teacher. She doesn't want it to be a job," he said, adding that she has perfect pitch and can learn songs simply by listening to them.
Reflecting on her passion for performing, the rapper admitted he believes Blue Ivy has found something she truly loves.
"I don't think we're going to be able to get her off that stage now," he said.
