Mel C reportedly weds Chris Dingwall in intimate Lake District ceremony
The Spice Girls singer reportedly celebrated a private wedding with Chris Dingwall, joined by several of her former bandmates
Melanie Chisholm, best known as Mel C of the Spice Girls, has reportedly married her longtime partner Chris Dingwall in an intimate ceremony in England.
According to the Mail on Sunday, the 52-year-old singer and Dingwall, a model, actor and screenwriter believed to be in his 40s, exchanged vows on Saturday at Country House Cumbria in the Lake District.
The reported wedding was attended by fellow Spice Girls members Geri Halliwell-Horner, Melanie Brown and Emma Bunton.
Victoria Beckham was unable to attend because she was in the United States with husband David Beckham for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, but reports claim she designed Mel C's white backless wedding gown as a gift.
"It was her great pleasure to make the dress for Mel," a source close to Victoria told the publication, adding that she was disappointed to miss the ceremony but sent her best wishes.
Mel C's 17-year-old daughter, Scarlett, whom she shares with former partner Thomas Starr, reportedly served as a bridesmaid during the celebration.
The ceremony also featured an unexpected moment when a herd of cows from a nearby farm reportedly wandered toward the venue as the couple exchanged vows, briefly startling guests.
According to the report, the couple wanted a private, understated celebration rather than a lavish event.
"Mel and Chris wanted an understated wedding; she didn't want a big flashy day but something smaller and very classy," a source said.
Neither Mel C nor Dingwall had publicly confirmed their engagement or wedding plans before the reported ceremony.
The couple have been together for around two years after meeting through the celebrity dating app Raya.
In recent months, Mel C admitted her relationship with Dingwall had changed her long-held views on marriage.
Earlier this year, she told The Sunday Times: "Marriage is something I didn't think would be part of my story. But I'm so happy with Chris. Maybe it is something that will be in my life."
Before that, the singer had repeatedly said she never imagined getting married after witnessing her parents' separation during childhood.
