BTS, Justin Bieber and Shakira ignite the first World Cup halftime show

The FIFA World Cup made history at MetLife Stadium on July 19 with its first-ever halftime show, delivering a star-studded spectacle full of energy and unity. Madonna kicked off the celebration alongside Brazilian soccer icons Ronaldo and Ronaldinho before conductor Gustavo Dudamel led an orchestra performance featuring the Muppets. Global sensation BTS kept the momentum going, lighting up the stage with fireworks during their hit Dynamite.

Adding a playful twist, Jason Sudeikis and Brendan Hunt appeared as Ted Lasso and Coach Beard to introduce Justin Bieber, who performed Everything Hallelujah on guitar with a custom World Cup twist. Shakira and Burna Boy then brought the energy, performing their collaboration Die to get the entire stadium dancing. Coldplay frontman Chris Martin wrapped up the event with the PS22 chorus, Sesame Street characters, and dancers for a heartwarming finale.
