American Pickers star Mike Wolfe is mourning the heartbreaking loss of his beloved dog, Francie Joe, after revealing she died in an accident.

The 62-year-old television personality shared the emotional news with fans in an Instagram post on Wednesday, admitting he feels responsible for the tragedy, though he did not disclose how the accident occurred.

“My heart is shattered in a thousand pieces,” Wolfe wrote. “I never got to say goodbye or comfort her when she needed me most.”

The History Channel star reflected on the special bond he shared with Francie Joe, describing her as a loyal companion who stood by him through some of the most difficult periods of his life.

“She listened to me when she knew I was wrong. She had patience for me when I didn’t deserve it,” he wrote. “She didn’t just love me for who I was in the moment. She could see all of my pain and joy from my past to my present.”

Wolfe recalled that Francie Joe entered his life when he was struggling and accompanied him on countless adventures across the United States.

“We traveled and explored this beautiful country of ours together,” he shared. “Her big brown eyes loved so many hearts and spread so much joy. She was family. She was everything I ever dreamed of in a dog.”

Expressing his grief, Wolfe said he has spent days trying to understand the loss but has accepted that some questions may never be answered.

“And now she’s gone, pulled from this world too soon,” he wrote. “For days now I’ve tried to make sense of it all. I’ve realized that I can’t. All I can do is remember what she taught me and live my life the way she would be proud of me.”

Wolfe's heartfelt tribute drew an outpouring of support from fans, who offered condolences and shared messages of comfort as he mourns the loss of his longtime companion.
