New 911 audio reveals final moments before influencer Sara Gilson's death
The tragedy unfolded weeks after Sara Gilson publicly accused her estranged husband of abuse
Influencer Sara Gilson was heard “screaming and crying” during a 911 call moments before she was fatally shot in an alleged murder-suicide involving her estranged husband, according to newly released dispatch audio.
Gilson, 43, and Jeremiah “Shawn” Duffey, 48, were found dead from gunshot wounds inside her home in Owasso, Oklahoma, on July 23 after a child living at the residence called 911.
According to dispatch audio obtained by People, a 911 operator reported hearing “a female in the background screaming and crying” before a loud bang was heard during the call.
Another dispatcher also referenced a man authorities had been searching for weeks earlier after allegations involving a juvenile and noted concerns about a firearm before officers arrived at the scene.
Police later determined that Duffey had fatally shot Gilson before taking his own life, according to local authorities.
The tragedy came just weeks after Gilson publicly accused her estranged husband of being a “pedophile” in a TikTok video shared on July 11.
“I wish I was joking,” she wrote alongside the post, which referenced a future Netflix documentary about her “soon-to-be ex-husband.”
Court records also show Gilson had sought an emergency protective order against Duffey on July 10, alleging he possessed a gun, threatened suicide and had gone on the run.
A judge ordered him to leave the family home and remain at least 100 yards away from her.
Separately, a protective order had been filed in June on behalf of a 15-year-old girl who accused Duffey, a youth basketball coach, of inappropriate conduct, including alleged unwanted physical contact, messages and attempts to arrange private meetings.
Those allegations were pending and had not been adjudicated in court.
Gilson had also sought protective orders against Duffey in 2021, although those filings were later dismissed after she failed to appear for scheduled hearings.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
