Scarlett Johansson gets demoralized after role competition against Sandra Bullock

Star Scarlett Johansson began to question her future in Hollywood as she failed to secure two big roles to the likes of Emily Blunt and Sandra Bullock.

Scarlett was rejected to essay in the 2010 Marvel hit Iron Man 2 and the 2013 science fiction Gravity which made her feel all hopeless about her place in the industry.

The Black Widow actress then sat for an interview with Variety where she discussed the ordeal.

"I got turned down for two roles — the first was ‘Iron Man 2’ and then the other one was Alfonso Cuarón’s ‘Gravity, I had wanted that role so much," she said.

Further adding, "It was sort of the straw that broke the camel’s back. I felt really frustrated and hopeless. Like, ‘Am I doing the right job?’"

"It was hard to get out of that pigeonhole. And I did films like ‘He’s Just Not That Into You’ and movies that kind of continued that narrative. I couldn’t make any headway."

"The work I was being offered felt deeply unfulfilling, I think I was offered every Marilyn Monroe script ever. I was like, ‘Is this the end of the road creatively?"

Scarlett's journey in acting had not been easy as she was turned out of major roles . She also left Iron Man 2 as it faced a clash with the 2010 Gulliver's Travels.
