Drew Barrymore looked back at her days in the rehab center at the age of 13, in latest mother’s day post.

In a blog post titled Mother's Day on her website, Barrymore reflected on becoming uninhibited at the age of 14, due to which she was admitted at the psychiatric hospital.

"I was in for the long haul," Barrymore noted. "I bonded with a lot of the kids, because like me, they did not know where to put their anger and they did not know how to live life anymore without the need to get high or self-destruct in some form and fashion."

The Drew Barrymore Show host also recalled an exercise at the rehab centre, in which the patients and their caretakers used to sit down in circle, with one family sitting in the center every week.

She revealed that during this activity, everyone was bound to share their experience.

Barrymore linked that exercise with her show now "The show is like the room," she said, "all feelings are welcomed, and all behaviors are not."

The Flower Films founder further admitted that it was, "necessary for me to step away and start to become my own person.”
