American Idol fans roast Katy Perry's finale look

Pop sensation Katy Perry’s sexy red ensemble for the American Idol finale episode sparked intense criticism.

The Dark Horse singer took the show’s stage in style alongside the likes of Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie.

However, the audience, who geared in to watch the performances, did not approve of Perry's outfit which had cutout details.

The top stretched across her collarbone and the bottom was a transparent long skirt with glitter rhinestones all over.

She then completed her look with a pair of high-heeled boots while she wore her hair down in hot curls.

After the pictures went viral fans were quick enough to express their distaste.

One user wrote, "that dress is not flattering on Katy Perry!” and others compared her dress to a vulgar swimsuit.

To note, Petty remained totally unfazed by the rude comments as she enjoyed the finale in full swing.
