Javed Sheikh says he wanted to charge 1 rupee for his role in Bollywood film 'Om Shanti Om'
Veteran Pakistani actor Javed Sheikh opened up about his experience of playing Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's father in the iconic film Om Shanti Om.
In a recent interview, the Bin Roye actor, known for his versatile performances, shared a heartwarming story about his payment for the role.
According to Sheikh,the Om Shanti Om's team manager initially approached him to discuss his payment. However, the veteran actor declined any money intended to contribute to the project out of passion.
Despite his refusal, the manager persisted, leading Sheikh to settle on a nominal amount of one rupee.
The Wrong No actor further revealed that his decision to forego payment was conveyed to Shah Rukh Khan and film's director, Farah Khan.
Showing mutual respect and understanding, they discussed determining appropriate compensation for Sheikh's invaluable contribution to the film.
Javed Sheikh also said it was an honor for him to play alongside Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan.
