Demi Lovato, who came out as non-binary in May 2021 has started using pronounces she/her again, because it was "exhausting" for the singer to explain they/them.
In her new interview with GQ Hype Spain, translated from Spanish to English Lovato opened up about how difficult it was her to explain her sexuality to the people.
“I constantly had to educate people and explain why I identified with those pronouns. It was absolutely exhausting,” the Cool for the Summer singer said.
“I just got tired. But for that very reason I know that it is important to continue spreading the word,” Lovato added.
The 30-yearold singer also shared her desire to see more gender-neutral spaces for non-binary celebrities and other people alike saying, "I face this every day. For example, in public toilets. Having to access the women's bathroom, even though I don't completely identify with it."
Lovato further continued, "Or it also happens when filling out forms, such as government documents or any other where you have to specify your gender. You only have two options, male and female, and I feel like none of that makes sense to me."
The Grammy nominee also noted, "I see myself conditioned to choose a woman because there are no more."
"I think this has to change. Hopefully with time there will be more options."
For the unversed, in her podcast 4D with Demi Lovato in May 2021, the singer came out as non-binary.
