Ali Rehman Khan details his research in performing 'Guru'

Pakistani actor Ali Rehman Khan  revealed the hard work that went into the portrayal of Sattar Guru in drama serial titled Guru.

The Janaan star then sat for a candid chat with Independent Urdu where he put forward some lesser known facts about his character catered for the intersex community.

"I did a lot of research before performing the role of Guru as I wanted it to look authentic and closer to reality,” said Rehman Khan.

He further added," The makeup and look was a collaborative effort as I wanted the clothes to be a certain type to bring that level of authenticity while Shazia Wajahat did a lot of work with the makeup team on the look of Guru.”

“I tried on several accents for Guru and finally met real intersex characters so he can pick on the accents and bring originality,” stated Rehman Khan.

The actor at the same time also addressed the debate surrounding not choosing real intersex people to be part of the play. 

“We had auditioned people from real intersex community but none of them were actors as professionals which made them cast male actors as intersex people,” the Heer Man Ja star concluded.
