The Columbian singer Shakira has revealed that she survived immense pain following her split with the Barcelona center-back Gerard Piqué.
In a chat with PEOPLE magazine, the Waka Waka hit-maker said, “everything came crashing down for me, my home was falling apart.”
She further added, "[My father's] recovery has been incredibly difficult and slow, but he is a remarkable and beloved man who always surprises us with his strength."
The Hips Don't Lie singer at the same time opened up about how her children, Milan and Sasha, were the priority.
"They mean everything to me; they are the reason I live," she added.
Shakira also explained how music has played a great role in the pop singer's life, while she was going through the toughest phase.
"Music connected me with my true self when I felt I was losing my identity. It was my mirror," Shakira admitted.
“My limited free time was dedicated to fighting my children, parents and establishing a new life outside of Spain,” she acknowledged.
Shakira and piqué parted ways in 2022 after dating for almost 11 years.
