‘The Vampire Diaries’ Paul Wesley on his character Stefan: ‘biggest thing I’ve ever done’
‘The Vampire Diaries’ actor Paul Wesley talked about his character Stefan in the series aired from 2009 to 2017

The Vampire Diaries star Paul Wesley got candid about his character Stefan and revealed why he doesn't miss the character of younger brother of Damon Salvatore.
In his recent interview with InStyle on Thursday, Wesley opened up about his role Stefan in the blockbuster hit HBO series The Vampire Diaries for the eight consecutive seasons.
During his conversation, the 40-year-old actor confessed he "would never do another vampire anything, period, let alone Vampire Diaries," adding that he doesn't "really miss anything about playing him [Stefan]."
Wesley then explained, "I don’t mean that in a [negative way], eight years is a long time, and I’m so glad to put that to rest. Eight seasons."
He further continued, "because the show ran for such a long time, in order for it to not become monotonous, every season, he sort of had a different arc."
"At one point he was pure evil, and he started out as the good guy and then he ended as the good guy. But I liked the challenge of trying to keep the character fresh," said the Fallen actor of Stefan.
However, the Tell Me a Story actor acknowledged that he still gets recognized the most for his role in The Vampire Diaries.
"It’s the biggest thing I’ve ever done, as far as popularity," said Wesley.
"I’ve done a bunch of roles since The Vampire Diaries, but nothing has been nearly as popular, so I think you have to get that next thing that puts you into a conversation that involves you and not the character that you’re known for playing," he added.
