‘Barbie’ star Margot Robbie sings praises for director Greta Gerwig: ‘she’s so smart’
Margot Robbie gushed over 'Barbie' director Greta Gerwig at the movie's Los Angeles premiere on Sunday
 
Margot Robbie, who is all set to step in real world in upcoming live-action film Barbie, sang praises for the director Greta Gerwig at the L.A premiere on Sunday.
During the L.A premiere of Barbie on Sunday, the Suicide Squad actress gushed over Gerwig, admitting that she signed the movie because of her.
"I don’t think most of us would’ve been involved if it wasn’t someone like Greta at the helm, but particularly Greta," said the 33-year-old actress the during the pink carpet at the Shrine Auditorium.
She further added, "what she does with her films… she’s so smart, but she’s also can really deliver on the humor and the emotion and we knew we wanted all of that in a Barbie movie. I can’t imagine anyone else doing it but Greta."
Other than Robbie, Alexandra Shipp also admired Gerwig saying, "it was really exciting" to work with Gerwig’s rection admitting, "I was extremely nervous coming onto this set and working with incredible actors. Greta makes a safe set, she allows you to be honest and articulate and have integrity in specific choices and she helps to elevate that."
The cast of Barbie includes, Ryan Gosling, Greta Gerwig, Emma Mackey, Alexandra Shipp and Kingsley Ben-Adir and more.
Gosling is playing Ken, the love interest of Margot Robbie's Barbie. The movie is scheduled to released in theatres on July 21, 2023.
