A throwback video of Matt Damon talking about Tom Cruise’s infamous Burj Khalifa stunt in his 2011’s Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol is taking rounds on the internet, following the release of Mission: Impossible 7 on July 12, 2023.
The Top Gun: Maverick actor, who has been winning the hearts of his die heart fans all across the world with jaw-dropping stunts and stellar performance in Mission: Impossible films, had impressed Damon with his highly popular Burj Khalifa stunt.
In a resurfaced video, the Oppenheimer star can be seen discussing his interaction with The Firm actor regarding one of his most dangerous stunts.
“I asked him, ‘Can you tell me how that happened?’ Now he’s a really intense guy, he goes like (imitates Cruise) ‘Yeah, I’ll tell you how it happened. I’ve been thinking about this shot for 15 years,’” Damon began narrating an epic story when he asked the 61-year-old actor about the Burj Khlifa stunt.
The Adjustment Bureau actor continued, “I am like, ‘Wow really!’ and he says, ‘So I go to the safety guy and I lay it all out. Safety guy say we can’t do it. It is too dangerous; you can’t do it. So, I get a new safety guy,'”
Damon further added, “that’s the beginning of his story and I say, ‘stop!’ That’s where we are different. Like, when the safety guy says no, I am like, ‘The safety guy said that’s not a good idea!'”
Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One is the 7th movie of the MI franchise, which has been garnering huge praises since its release in theatres.
Tom Cruise has played IMF agent Ethan Hunt since the release of Mission: Impossible 1, in 1996.
While, Matt Damon will be seen in Christopher Nolan's upcoming film Oppenheimer, as General Leslie Groves, the head of Manhattan project for the invention of first ever atomic bomb in the history.
