Oppenheimer has been ruling Twitter trends since its theatrical release Today, on July 21, 2023.

The Christopher Nolan film Oppenheimer has become talk of the town shortly after its release, and the duration of the extended sex scene between Cillian Murphy and Florence Pugh's respective characters Oppenheimer and Jean Tatlock has left the audience startled.

As per the recent reactions of the fans emerged on Twitter, the highly anticipated sex scene is almost 15 minutes long.

One user tweeted,  "just found out Cillian Murphy will have a sex scene with Florence Pugh and not the damn bomb."

Another wrote, "Florence Pugh and Cillian Murphy sex scene in imax” is the only promo that oppenheimer needs."

Previously, the Peaky Blinders famed actor and the Inception director has defended the full frontal nudity in Oppenheimer.

During his conversation with Insider, Nolan defended the sex scene saying, “when you look at Oppenheimer’s life and you look at his story, that aspect of his life, the aspect of his sexuality, his way with women, the charm that he exuded, it’s an essential part of his story.” 

The Interstellar director further added, “it felt very important to understand their relationship and to really see inside it and understand what made it tick without being coy or allusive about it — but to try to be intimate, to try and be in there with him and fully understand the relationship that was so important to him.”

Beside The Edge of Love actor has also opened about his sex scene with Pugh's Jean in the movie.

In his conversation with The Guardian, Murphy explained, “they put two actors in a room to see if there’s any spark, and have all the producers and director at a table watching. I don’t know what metric they use, and it seems so outrageously silly, but sometimes you get a chemistry and nobody knows why.”
