Beyoncé mother Tina Knowles officially ends marriage with husband Richard Lawson

Beyoncé mom Tina Knowles   has officially filed for divorce with the actor husband Richard Lawson after 8 years of marriage.

As per the court documents obtained by E! News, the mother of the legendary pop icon and her sister Solange has filed for divorce on Tuesday, July 26.

 In the filing, Knowles has highlighted irreconcilable differences between the couple, as the reason behind their divorce.

The 69-year-old business woman has also made a request to  the court, urging them to revoke its ability to award spousal support to either of them.

Beyoncé mother also urged the court to revert her surname back to Knowles, which she adopted in 1980, after tying the knot to her ex-husband Matthew Knowles.

The shocking news of separation comes three months after the eighth wedding anniversary of Knowles and Lawson. 

Knowles got married to the Black Terror actor on April 12, 2015, in a dreamy white-themed wedding ceremony took place at Newport Beach, California.

Knowles in a 2015 interview with PEOPLE, revealed that her granddaughter Blue Ivy Carter (daughter of  Beyoncé  and Jay-Z) persuaded her to get married to Lawson, after meeting the 76-year-old actor during a family outing.

"We went on a boat with Beyoncé and Jay-Z and when we came out one night dressed to go to dinner, Blue said, 'Oh, y'all look beautiful. When are y'all getting married?'" told Knowles at that time.

She further added,  "Richard said, 'Oh, Blue, soon. Do you approve?'"

It is pertinent to note, Knowles was friends with Lawson for decades before becoming romantic partners. 

Beyoncé and Solange are the daughters of Tina Knowles and Matthew Knowles.
