The Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions concluded not to proceed with the case after examining the evidence and applying the Commonwealth's Prosecution Policy.
Heard was initially charged in 2015 and pleaded not guilty later that year.
Her lawyer released a statement highlighting her respect for Australia's laws and her intention to defend herself in court.
The incident occurred while Heard was married to actor Johnny Depp.
