F1 driver Carlos Sainz may take ‘team leader’ position from Charles Leclerc
Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz has secured 25 points after winning Singapore Grand Prix on September 17, 2023

Carlos Sainz has outshined Charles Leclerc in Singapore Grand Prix and he might become a “team leader” of Ferrari after getting P1 in the latest race.
After fifteen races of the 2023 season, Ferrari might put an end to Red Bull’s winning streak with Carlos dominating the last race.
Allard Kalff, a veteran motorsport driver, has appreciated Carlos for making wise decisions during crucial times even if they go against team principals.
During a conversation with Motorsport, Allard shared, “I think Sainz might be more of a team leader than Charles Leclerc. The way he [Sainz] talks on the radio, the way he takes matters into his own hands.”
He continued, “Remembering Hungary, then Leclerc was sent on track with the hard tyre and it didn’t work. When they said to Sainz ‘You come in for a hard tyre’, he said: ‘Yes, but it doesn’t work for Leclerc so I don’t want to use it either. Just do something else.’”
The Dutch driver exclaimed, “Then you are a team leader.”
Allard further acknowledged the Spanish driver’s win and shared that whatever he does his way is “fantastic.”
He also praised the Formula One driver for lending a helping hand to his former teammate Lando Norris despite being under massive pressure.
The former Sportsnet commentator mentioned, “Overtaking is not easy here [in Singapore]. The speed that Norris had compared to the Ferrari was actually not enough to overtake him. Then you have to make sure that you position your car in such a way that you cannot be overtaken.”
Carlos Sainz has accumulated twenty-five points so far in the 2023 season of F1.
