Imtiaz Ali addressed the rumors of the 'Jab We Met' sequel that have been floating on the Internet

Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor’s hit Jab We Met maker Imtiaz Ali has shared a candid revelation about the sequel of the movie.
During the conversation with New8, the director of Tamasha revealed that "it's not currently in progress," yet simultaneously mentioned, "Let's wait and see."
Furthermore, he conveyed that, at present, he lacks a storyline to create a sequel to Jab We Met.
Ali stated, “No, it’s not happening. I don’t have a story for Jab We Met 2 yet. I’ve heard of these and read these reports and articles.”
He went on to say, “Nobody asked me before publishing them, so I don’t know what to say. But let’s see what happens.”
Shahid Kapoor on 'Jab We Met' sequel:
In June of this year, the Kabir Singh actor drew significant interest when a fan of X inquired about his frequent interactions with Imtiaz Ali, asking if there might be a project in development.
Shahid's reply, “Smart Boy,” which sparked speculation about a potential film collaboration with Imtiaz Ali after a 16-year gap.
'Chamkila':
Imtiaz Ali also revealed about his new project Chamkila, stating, “It’s coming pretty soon. I hope the audience likes it when they see it. Shooting for Chamkila felt like a very different experience as a filmmaker.
The Love Aaj Kal director continued, “It involved a lot of unlearning, which is why I felt very fresh while making it and I’m sure that the audience will also witness that once they watch it.”
He further added, “Working on a story like Chamkila helped me reconnect with a different side of myself and in the process, I felt very invigorated and rejuvenated. I truly can’t wait for everyone to watch it."
Parineeti Chopra and Diljit Dosanjh in 'Chamkila':
For the unversed, Parineeti Chopra and Diljit Dosanjh are set to star in Imtiaz's upcoming movie, Chamkila.
This film centers on the lives of two renowned Punjabi singers, Amarjot Kaur, and Amar Singh Chamkila, and is inspired by the real-life story of the iconic Punjab musician who gained fame during the 1980s through his music.
Tragically, he was assassinated at the young age of 27. In the movie, Diljit will portray the eponymous character, while Parineeti will take on the role of his wife, Amarjot.
